Vacancy-Interim Treasurer

Hello Neighbors
Our current Interim Treasurer has submitted her resignation effective 4/1/12. We would like to thank Judy Houser for the outstanding work she has done on behalf of the community. She will be dearly missed. As a result of her resignation the Board of Directors is currently in need of an Interim Treasurer to serve until elections in 2013.
If you are interested in this position please submit your resume stating your desire to be considered for the job. Please include any qualifications that you feel will help in doing this job effectively. However, please note that this office is not as labor intensive as it once was.
The Board of Directors has voted on hiring Francis Stewart CPA, an accounting firm, to handle the financial matters pertaining to the community. They will be handling most of the traditional duties of the treasurer, including:

send out dues notices
collect dues
deposit dues
keep list of paid dues
send out delinquent notices
write checks for invoices
balance checking account
offers suggestions for vendors
help with budget issues
help with elections and ballots
be one of two signatures on checks
file tax returns as required by the State of Florida and the Federal Government
perform a review of the books of the community as requested by the Board
provide continuity and stability for the HOA

Please note that the office of treasurer will be a voting member of the Board and serve as a liaison between the community, the Board of Directors and the CPA firm. One of the other duties of the treasurer will be to collect mail from our P.O. Box and direct the mail to the appropriate board member or the CPA firm.

The deadline for applications is April 15, 2012.
If you have any questions, please contact Stafford Slaughter, President or any other member of the Board. Please call after 5p.m. as all of the Board members work during the day.
Unfortunately, we do not have the email addresses of all of the homeowners in Kingsmill. If you are aware of anyone who may also be interested in this position but has not received this notification, please pass the information on to them.

Front Entrance beautification

We are so pleased with the results of the front entrance project and hope that the community is just as pleased. Please help us keeping the front entrance looking as nice as it does now. Please DO NOT throw your trash in the front entrance gardens! Keep your trash in your vehicles or find a trash receptacle at your destination. Thank you for your cooperation!

Community Meeting Minutes

Please take a few moments to review the minutes for our bi-annual Community Meeting. They can be found on the right side of this website under Archived Meeting Minutes. Our meeting was held on March 20, 2012 as was previously advertised.

Out of 323 homes we had 11 homes represented, not including the Board of Directors, with a total of 13 people from the community in attendance. We would truly like to see more participation from our community. Your input is needed! Please become involved! If you are interested in serving the community, please contact the Board via email or pick up the phone and call one of the Directors. Please remember, however, that everyone on the Board works during the day so evening contact is preferable.

Homeowner’s Dues

Kingsmill HOA dues are due on January 1 of each year and become delinquent on February 1^st. We do not send out invoices, but do send reminders as a courtesy. It is the responsibility of each homeowner to pay their dues on time. If you change your address but retain ownership of your home, please notify the HOA board so that your reminder can be forwarded to you.

Front Entrance Landscaping

Tropic-Care Landscaping will begin work on our front entrance on Monday, March 26, 2012. They will, at times, be blocking one side of the road in order to facilitate the work that is being done as well as provide safety measures for their workmen. Please take care when entering or exiting the subdivision.

We are excited to have a beautiful and welcoming entrance to our community. Please help us in maintaining the entrance by NOT throwing trash and debris into the gardens. Please join us in taking pride in our community and ensuring a trash free front entrance.

West Pond Clearing

It has come to the attention of the HOA that many of the homes located on the retention ponds have plants and trees that are growing through the fence that borders the ponds. These plants and/or trees are causing considerable damage to the fence. The HOA cannot address the repair or replacement of the fence until and unless the offending plants/trees are trimmed back from the fence. Any and all plant material that is growing on the pond side of the fence will be removed by the HOA. This will include any mature trees that have grown completely through the fence and are weakening or damaging the fence. It would behoove the homeowner to address this issue from their side to ensure that their plants survive this pruning process.

The work on the West pond will begin on Monday, March 26, 2012.

Nuisance Barking

A reminder to all dog owners in our community:

Please remember to keep your dogs from disturbing your neighbors with incessant barking in the evening and early morning hours. It is your responsibility, as a dog owner, to care for your dogs and to ensure that they do not become an annoyance to the community.
